Hi, I'm Hunter! Get to know about Me and my Professional Experience

My name is Hunter LaFroth and I was born and raised in the Washington D.C. area. I am the second oldest of four children and have two wonderful parents that not only taught me the importance of a good work ethic, but helped cultivate my creative endeavors, molding me into the man I am today. When I was a kid, my father insisted on showing me a variety of movies, from cinema classics such as Casablanca to more modern pieces like Shawshank Redemption. The diverse assortment of films I was exposed to throughout my life led me to seek fresh and thought-provoking material, be it through film or other means.

As an adolescent, I was an energetic troublemaker. I was never the greatest student in the world and was envious of my older sister’s intellectual superiority. However, my father instilled a belief, a motivation, that through hard work and effort I could reach heights that I would never have thought possible. My dad has always been my biggest supporter and inspires me to constantly learn, improve and work towards my goals. Since my childhood, I have learned to channel my energy into a passion for art in all forms, maintaining a drive to explore myself and become better than I was the day before.

Throughout the years, I have poured my life experiences into various creative outlets to get my feelings in a physical form. Whether it be music, painting, or short films, I am always finding new ways to express my inner thoughts and demons. As I entered my late teen years, I discovered a love of editing and directing my own creative projects. I am striving to become a director and editor, as I have been very inspired by Akira Kurosawa, who directed and edited his own films. The filmmaker that inspires me the most is Sam Raimi. Since 1981, he has been making films that just click with me, whether it be through his creative cinematography or compelling stories. My favorite of his films is Spider-Man 2. It is a masterclass in tonal balance, cinematography, and heart.
